A graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, Melissa earned her BFA in Theatre with aspirations of bringing her written works to the stage. Melissa serves in many capacities with LBSC. She is on the Board of Directors, is the production coordinator, and is an actress, author, and singer. Just a few of her acting credits include: A Bride in Dracula, Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, Phebe in As You Like It, The First Witch in Macbeth, Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, Gil in The Wakefield Second Shepherds Play, Effie in The Maltese Falcon, and both Titania and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Her original work, The Posthumous Affairs of Felson, Jones and Lordygan, had its debut at LBSC's Richard Goad Theatre in July of 2006, and received rave reviews from the Press-Telegram, the Grunion Gazette, and Backstage West. Melissa's most recent play, Breath--an exploration in manipulation, dreamscapes, and hypnosis--was equally well-received last summer.
