Lauren Velasco
Lauren is the daughter of two musicians, so she comes by show business naturally. Although she is an accomplished violinist herself, playing since she was seven, and a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, she has always wanted to be an actress. She has had a variety of roles including parts in Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz, Goldie Rocks, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She has also produced, written and starred in several short movies which include Too Many Tamales, Amelia Bedelia for Mayor, Calvin and Hobbes, and Molly the Brave and Me. With LBSC, she has played two apparitions, Fleance and the son of Macduff in Macbeth, and the midget, Dennis, and the Duke’s Page in As You Like It, in which she also played violin. She played several servants and violin in Taming of the Shrew for the LBSC Summer Festival. She was also an ensemble player and violinist in Cyrano de Bergerac, A Christmas Carol, and The Merchant of Venice. Most recently, she was Prince Edward in Richard III, and was co-cast as Cammy with her good friend Heidi Hendricks in Melissa Miller’s new work, Breath. Lauren is now attending the Orange County High School for the Arts in Santa Ana.
